After a simple verification process, you may monitor online, with images of most incoming mail, the mail that is incoming daily to an address that you might not be at constantly, such as an off site office, a UPS Store, a Post Office Box.
Informed delivery displays only business sized envelopes - not the large manila not the fliers magazines etc. So if whatever you are anticipating comes in an envelope larger than 4 1/8" x 9 1/2" you won't see it in the Informed Delivery portal. Sometimes even business sized envelopes end up marked as "A piece of mail that we do not have an image for is included in today's mail."
Informed Delivery is great though, notwithstanding its limitations and occasional errors. It also notifies you pretty consistently of any incoming USPS tracked packages
